I am not a fan of rumors and I am sure you do not care much about my lunch options, so those are two things you will NOT see on my blog - gossip about my employer or other companies and personal blogging.
About Diana Tarpanova Zink
I have been engaged in the web industry wearing different hats for nearly 10 years.
My background is a blend of both web engineering and business ( BSc. Computer Information Systems and BSc. Business Administration degrees from Columbia College ) and my passion lays in bridging the two in productive, engaging, innovative ways.
All of my work experience has been focused on merging business and engineering. In the past I have done my fair share of freelance projects; in addition to working as a Small Business Consultant and Project Manager; Business Analyst and Online Marketing Manager for an Inc 500 company; Interactive Web Specialist for a US College; and a Front End Developer on Fortune 500 corporate web applications for the client base of my former employer. I am currently transitioning to a new, more senior role, with the core web team of a a corporation I greatly admire. Wish me luck.
What drives me, in the writing of this blog, is innovation and growth in people, teams and companies. I think there is plenty of motivational and leadership literature out there, and plenty of engineering books but not much in the way of building, supporting, and growing the teams that make things happen.
Where I get my knowledge is from experience, from my inspiring mentors, from the web community; and also from web development and engineering books published by Apress, OReilly, Wrox, FriendsOfEd, Wiley and others, business literature such as the Harvard Business Review, Wall Street Journal, and MBA curriculum books used in the Wharton, Stanford and MIT MBA programs.
One thing I have learned about learning that the key to true growth is to never let Ego stand in the way of expanding your skills. I am not afraid to ask stupid questions, or give honest answers, and I enjoy feedback, so feel welcome to jot me a few lines or leave a comment about any goods and bads in my writings or ideas.
Sit back, grab a cup of coffee and browse through, and if my thoughts have triggered a worthwhile idea or have helped you resolve a problem, let me know or feel free to link to this site, because I promise you more will be coming soon.
